A broken ankle deprived Jitka Čvančarová of her dream job on the continuation of the Cuckoo series. But few have any idea how serious her injury was. The popular actress now talked about it on the Jan Kraus Show, where she admitted that she was bedridden for three months. And not only that. She revealed why she decided to put her acting career on hold.
Jitka Čvančarová she is one of our favorite actresses. No wonder you love her director Biser Arichtev chose to his Cuckoo series and hoped to star in the sequel as well. But that didn’t happen anymore. The actress was badly injured. “I went to save the children, who in the end didn’t need saving. An impulsive mother. Fortunately, the children are fine and the mother has recovered.” portrayed by the actress in Show Jana Krause with a smile on his face. But she didn’t have him for many months.
“I hurt my leg really badly. I broke everything in my ankle. The head was worse than the body. I was laid up for a quarter of a year,” admitted the actress, who is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the military facility in Slapy. “Among the soldiers, I’m nicknamed the ballet dancer. It’s a bit of a chore, which suits me,” added Čvančarová, who just after this unpleasant experience trains her resilience using Wim Hof’s method of hardening and breathing.
“The man started to fascinate me about a year or so ago, so I started to find out about him and I thought the best possible way to get to know him was to go on his winter expedition with him. And that was fascinating “ describes Jitka, who went to Sněžka with the Dutchman Wim Hof, a pioneer of the method of reducing stress through the control and control of one’s own autonomic nervous system.
“I dare say his method is unquestionable. Unlike him. He is a controversial figure, but the method is unquestionable.” Jitka is convinced, and that’s why she doesn’t let up in hardening herself. “I don’t do it every day, but when I feel like it” adds the mother of a ten-year-old daughter and a four-year-old son. It was because of her children that she decided to limit her work in the theater.
Čvančarová about frustration
“Before I had children, I recorded quite a lot in the theater, but now I don’t want to sacrifice those evenings,” explains why he is not seen in the theater that often. “I couldn’t concentrate because I had to think about the children all the time. So I decided to limit it. There’s nothing you can do because I can’t sacrifice that evening. So I’m with the children. We have a long bedtime. That’s hand, hand, songs, fairy tales… sometimes the program is almost as long as a theater performance,” laughs Čvančarová, who in one breath admits her frustration with the current state of the acting industry in the Czech Republic.
“I stopped so nicely – there are deeper reasons for it. And I must say that I am a little, well maybe more than a little, frustrated with my profession, with some superficiality, with frequent amateurism. So I have such an empty, unwritten sheet in front of me and I’ll see where life takes me” confides Jitka, reminding us of the boiled frog syndrome, when a person is unable to realize the gradually increasing danger in time.
“It’s originally from a fable. When you put a frog in a pot of cold water and you slowly start heating it, the frog doesn’t know it’s getting hot, so it doesn’t jump out and boil. I can’t describe it any better. It’s that creeping thing when it starts to blur , what you want, what you don’t want, what’s wrong… So I don’t want to be cooked like a frog. And I think the most important thing in art is not to mistrust yourself.” added the actress, who according to ČSFD in 2022, she starred in four feature films. The second season of the series should premiere this year Black widows.
