Actor Jiří Krampol (84) was finally able to leave Na Františku hospital on Monday after a fortnight, where he was recovering after pre-Christmas problems. But he still doesn’t like to sing. “I can’t catch my breath,” he told eXtra.cz with difficulty.
Jiří Krampol: Health complications
The legendary Jiří Krampol three weeks ago he caught a bad cold at the premiere of his self-documentary, Life is Fun, then finished off the havoc with a busy trip to Moravia after his work duties.
“I was at the premiere of my documentary on Thursday and it was terribly cold there. The hall was not heated at all. Several people, including my manager, were affected by the disease. Then, instead of Jiřina Bohdalová, I went to Moravia for the Celebrity Event of the Year, but in the morning at the hotel I felt terrible and had a fever. So I went to the doctors because I have to be careful with my bronchial tubes so I don’t get pneumonia again. This would therefore risk being final at any timeJiří Krampol has already told eXtra.cz previously.
He was admitted on December 18th. Eventually too he ended up on an oxygen mask in the intensive care unit. She spent the Christmas holidays and the New Year under the care of medical professionals.
He can’t catch his breath
What is bronchitis
Inflammation of the bronchi (phlegm, bronchitis) quite often accompanies the common cold. It is an inflammation of the lining of the airways in the lungs and can be acute or chronic.
It is a respiratory disease, classified as inflammation of the lower respiratory tract. Patients first develop inflammatory edema and later mucus (exudate) is produced, which causes a violent cough.
The culprits are various microorganisms, for example respiratory viruses, bacteria, chlamydia, molds and yeasts. Additional factors also play a role, such as cold, dry ambient air or the patient’s state of health.
Acute bronchitis is not a serious problem for healthy people, but it can be more dangerous for children and elderly patients.
Chronic bronchitis can cause damage to the bronchi and lungs, which in rare cases can lead to heart failure or shortness of breath. Pneumonia occurs exceptionally.

“They let me go today, now I’m home. But that’s not much. I still can’t catch my breath properly. As I lay on my back for two weeks, I’m all in pieces. Since I didn’t move, now the lungs and bronchi have to recover. I get up, take three steps and can hardly breathe,” artist Jiří Krampol told eXtra.cz.
„I had a strong bronchial catarrh. I was choking on a cough. I have it since childhood. When it bursts, then it’s stupid,” explained the entertainer, actor and presenter. At the same time, the inflammation of the bronchi can be, according to the health portal EUC extension very dangerous.
While still far from singing, he is happy to be in a home environment.
“I thought he was going to pass me. That a detonator will explode in my head, that I will explode. Even though they took great care of me there, the hospital environment is just awful. Home is simply home. They turned on the TV, but I couldn’t even hear it. I didn’t know what to do,” added the entertainer, who can’t wait to get out of the worst and catch his breath. And especially when he can be in front of an audience again, because that’s what keeps him on his feet the most: when he can entertain the audience with his sometimes quite unbelievable stories. And maybe, when he knocks, he’ll add a few funny ones from the hospital.
