New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal appeared in Rouse Avenue Court today in a money laundering case related to Delhi’s alleged excise scam. However, he appeared in the court through video conferencing (VC). Kejriwal’s lawyer applied for exemption from appearance.
Let us tell you that on February 17, the court had ordered him to appear. He will answer in the court as to why he did not respond to the five summons issued by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the liquor policy case. Arvind Kejriwal gave the reason for his not appearing in the court. He told that he is not appearing because of the budget and confidence motion of the Delhi government.

He said, ‘I wanted to come, but the budget has come, whatever date the court gives, I will come.’ However, ED did not oppose this. The next hearing will be held in Rouse Avenue Court on March 16, in which Kejriwal will appear at 10 am. Let us tell you that in the Delhi Liquor Policy scam case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has so far sent five summons to Arvind Kejriwal and summoned him for questioning. But he did not reach the ED office even once. Now ED had sent him the sixth summons. After this, today he appeared in Rouse Avenue Court through VC.
Meanwhile, the trust vote will be discussed in the Delhi Assembly today. CM Kejriwal had presented a motion for trust vote in the Assembly on Friday. While presenting the resolution, he targeted BJP and said that they are being implicated in false cases. Along with this, he alleged that BJP is trying to ‘buy’ AAP MLAs.
