More recently, Kate eagerly transported things from Kensington Palace to Windsor. Away from London, the Duchess hoped to strengthen her marriage and get rid of her rivals. After Meghan Markle’s revelations, the world learned that Prince William was cheating on his wife and that their marriage was on the verge of collapse. The flow of gossip on this subject, according to Middleton’s plan, should have stopped after the move.
But suddenly, the royal family faced a heartbreak that changed their lives. Elizabeth II died. For Kate, this meant a “promotion” and new responsibilities, which means the Duchess will have far less time for her children and husband. And so it happened. Less than two months have passed since the tragedy and Middleton is already loaded with work for the community. The hardest tasks go to the newly created Duchess of Wales.
So, at the end of October, Kate opened Addiction Awareness Week. Middleton issued an official statement, addressing those who is struggling with a “serious health condition”, their relatives, as well as ordinary Brits who have not encountered this problem.
“Addiction is a serious mental health condition that can affect anyone, regardless of age, sex, race or nationality. As a society, we need to recognize that the only way to help those who are suffering is to try to understand what led them to addiction, empathize with them, and show compassion for their struggles. Please know that addiction is not a choice; nobody wants to become a drug addict. I want you to know that this is a serious illness. Please don’t let shame stop you from getting the help you so desperately need. “
