20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer is excited to be able to make a positive difference in Malawi through his foundation as he is determined to give Malawi’s children a chance at a proper education.
The Roger Federer Foundation has been active in Malawi since 2020 and last week Federer himself traveled to Malawi to see the work being done there. During his visit to Malawi, the great Federer donated 3000 tablets.
“It’s amazing to see that in rural Malawi we have a digital device like the Early Learning Kiosk making a difference for the kids here,” Federer said in a video uploaded to his foundation’s YouTube channel via Sportskeeda became.
“The carers are doing an amazing job and I loved seeing that.” Over the year the Federer Foundation has done a lot of positive philanthropic work in Africa.
Federer: I want to help
“What I want to do is help.
I want to give the people and the children here in Malawi a chance because I believe that the potential is incredibly great. That’s why I’m here in the field to see it for myself, so I can tell the story when I come back to Switzerland,” said Federer.
During his time in Malawi, Federer played a bit of tennis with the kids. Federer, a former World No. 1 and an absolute tennis legend, enjoyed playing a bit of tennis with the kids in Malawi.
“I really enjoyed playing with all the children on the playground and learning through play. I’ve been doing this with my kids for years, so I’m a bit of an expert. We had a great and nice time.”
Federer returned to Switzerland happy and fulfilled after seeing how things were going in Malawi. “Our trip to Malawi was magical on many levels. Seeing the supervisors I think was the highlight and what I enjoyed the most. It was fantastic to see them interacting with the kids in the classroom,” added Federer.
