“At the Bank, Ngunji values at the Drongos table” is the book that the investment manager and consultant, João Kaveto, will launch in the next few days in Luanda, after having already in São Paulo, Bahia and Pernambuco (Brazil). The experiences of his profession, summarized in stories close to common truth, are the background of a book that brings learning to a term that is used a lot among us recently: “entrepreneurship”
I would start by asking you how this move from the world of management and strategy to literature works. Was there already a need to discuss technical issues related to what you do with a novel?
Well, this is not specifically about the transition from the financial market to literature, but, from the world of management and strategy to literature. I am a business manager, trained and qualified, and consultant on investment projects. I like to strategically design administrative and financial plans. In addition, I am passionate about the challenges that come with the needs that aim to realize strategic plans and monitor the entire process, with the goals that ‘ prove his concept. Therefore, over several years of professional activity, I have had the opportunity to advise many businessmen in the planning and execution of their investment projects, in a complex environment full of joy and sadness, with a statement shareholders mission, whether raised. take into account their values, their beliefs, before the macrostructural development programs of economic policy.
But what was the point of taking this route?
The more interested he was in the meaning of the most varied parts of the economic fabric, the more he paid attention to the political and social philosophies which, to some extent, determined the profile of the people who stood out in such an uncertain environment. So, along with a love of reading, which was confirmed by my mother, from the day she gave me a used Physics I book, bought with the money from the sale of one of her skirts, in 1994, and the effect of one of the skirts her the statements by Dr. Sérgio Raimundo, I believe it was in November 2010, when he romantically asked for a reduction in the prison sentence given to one of the election that had murdered her husband, I came to love writing and began to write passionately about everything I see or think. This is how I transitioned and reconciled my professional activities as a manager and consultant with literature. Ngunji and his brothers Dona Lumbi and Ntoinho Jota are characters that remind us of a fact that many people recognize. It should be noted that in this book, there is an intersection of stories that he inquired about, but the background is only technical.
What message do you want to convey?
The book is based on the reality of several entrepreneurs and beyond, so whoever reads the book, even in the first pages, will see themselves in the narration of the characters, although it is a book about be proved by technical facts. What I did was to find real stories, including mine, to give more meaning to the whole plot – to organize the whole process based on technical decisions about what the original book would be : “How to face the challenges of entrepreneurship in Angola”, awaken, therefore, the interest of any reader.
What is the purpose of your message?
The goal of the message is to help readers to implement mental stimuli that will allow them to appreciate seemingly simple decisions, however, that affect the lives of people around us and institutions. Therefore, our actions, no matter how simple they are, must contribute to painting a touch of happiness that is able to affect the fulfillment of the fair dreams of others; that it is understood that fair dreams are always realized; that an incomplete dream can hide the need to redefine the mission of this same dream, and not be a factor in giving. When we do this, its achievement, no matter how great, will be a reality. To this end, being in love with life is the basic condition for showing a vision that is able to give us the most useful smile in the process of succeeding human life as a whole; that in the end, no matter how painful the journey may be, the good guys will always win.
Today, one of the most used words is “entrepreneurship” or “making”. When you were writing this book, did you feel the need to connect current times with what is happening in the stories told?
There are. I am one of those people who believe that nothing happens by chance. Everything contributes to a greater good, no matter how much our individual or semi-collective views may imply otherwise. The actions
