I want BI Fast Transfer Fees to go down to Rp 100…

BADUNG, KOMPAS.com – The Association of International Banks (Perbina) expects fees transfer between banks using BI Fast can go down from IDR 2,500 per transaction to IDR 100.

In addition, it is also easier for the public because they have more affordable inter-bank transfer options. This is because the interbank transfer fee charged by banks is around Rp. 6,500 per transaction.

And consumers will benefit more, lower cost. So I want it to go down again to Rp 500 or Rp 100 to help MSMEs,” said Batara at the Digital Financial Economy Festival in Bali, Wednesday (13/7/2022).

He said the reduction in transfer fees should have been carried out by Bank Indonesia (BI). Considering that banks have also cut interest on credit cards several times from 45 percent to 20 percent.

“It’s the same if we have CC 45 percent to 35 percent to 29 percent to 20 percent. This (BI Fast fee reduction) will come only when (don’t know yet),” he said.

If the BI Fast transfer fee can be implemented, then this will help the growth of Indonesian MSMEs which so far have contributed more than half of Indonesia’s GDP.

“I think in the end it has to be better, faster, and cheaper. With the better, we have seen direct payments, faster, 24 by 7, and cheaper from Rp. 6,500 to Rp. 2,500, maybe later it will go down again because we want it not to burden MSMEs,” he said.
