11 Stone Lighter: Man’s Transformation Through Simplicity
Forget the grueling gym sessions and restrictive diets. For one man, achieving significant weight loss came down to a structured meal plan and a simple, consistent approach.
Martin Bryan, who once weighed over 27 stone, embarked on a journey that saw him shedding an impressive 11 stone in just 10 months. His secret? The 1:1 diet.
"I was never able to lose the weight and maintain it for a long period of time, until I found the 1:1 diet," Bryan revealed. Before his breakthrough, he’d tried nearly every method imaginable: calorie-counting, slimming groups, points-based systems, even cabbage soup diets and pills. " You name it, I had done it," he explained.
His past struggles only made his latest success more meaningful. This time, Bryan focused on simplicity. He adopted a consistent daily meal plan that provided all the necessary nutrients, resulting in a healthy and sustainable weight loss.
His day began with a strawberry shake. Lunch was either chicken or vegetable soup, and his final meal centered on protein and vegetables, carefully portioned to about 400 calories.
"This last meal would average around 400 calories," Bryan shared, emphasizing that his three daily meals met his nutritional needs.
Martin has not only maintained his weight loss since 2019 but also become an inspiration, sharing his story and encouraging others to find a path that works for them.

A Closer Look: How the 1:1 Diet Works
The 1:1 diet, also known as the Cambridge diet, has a history dating back to the 1960s. Designed for rapid weight loss, its core principle is strict calorie restriction. Meal replacements, such as shakes, soups, and bars, form a significant part of the program, with an initial intensive 12-week phase featuring very low-calorie intake.
Dieters can choose from six different plans, ranging from 440 to 1,500 calories daily.
While the 1:1 diet has proven successful for many, it’s crucial to consult a healthcare professional before embarking on any drastic dietary changes.
