– I think it’s a little weird – VG

HOME: Bjørn Lesund-Skaug is looking forward to coming home to Norway, after eleven days of overtime on Samos. Here he is pictured with his wife Anette and son Mats Alexander.

Tomorrow, Bjørn Lesund-Skaug and his family will finally go home after being on strike in Samos for eleven days. However, it’s not just getting on the plane – the family gets a nine-hour bus ride from Copenhagen to Oslo.

Monday wrote VG about Bjørn Lesund-Skaug and the family who went on strike on Samos. After the parties in the SAS strike agreed on Tuesday night, the travel party has finally been offered a return trip on Wednesday.

– We received the message from Apollo two hours ago, Lesund-Skaug tells VG on Tuesday night.

– There will be a bus from Copenhagen to Gardermoen, so it’s a bit boring. It is certainly not easy to get started properly when there are so many who are stuck.

Nine hours bus tour

Lesund-Skaug is happy that they get away with only one bus trip, but had hoped to fly directly to Gardermoen.

– It would have taken much less time. The bus trip alone takes nine hours, instead of four hours flight to Gardermoen.

– As long as we know that we are on the way home, that’s fine. We think it’s a little strange that they did not arrange flights to Oslo.

Impatient

Fortunately, the extra long stay has not offered particularly unforeseen expenses for the family.

– It should really only be missing, says Lesund-Skaug.

– In that sense, we can not complain about how we have had it while we have been waiting. It has been sunny and 30 degrees here every day. There are many who do not understand that we complain either, but as long as you have other plans, it is stupid to be in one place for too long.

The family should actually have been at the cabin in Trondheim. However, they are not enough after the unplanned extra stay on the Greek holiday island.

DOUBLED: The holiday was more than twice as long as planned for Bjørn Lesund-Skaug and the family after the SAS strike affected their return from Samos.

Start packing

The family has gradually started packing for the flight tomorrow, Wednesday. Lesund-Skaug is not significantly worried that the flight will be canceled – at least for now.

– What is the first thing you should do when you get home?

– We will pick up our dog that we have missed so much, we will also sleep well in our own bed, says Lesund-Skaug.

– We are relieved that we get home in time, before work and everything starts again.

– The best solution

Erik Haug in Apollo says that approximately 720 of their passengers have arrived in Norway today, Tuesday. Extra flights have been added with SAS, including from Crete and Santorini.

As for Samos, where Lesund-Skaug and his family are, Haug confirms that there will be a flight to Copenhagen tomorrow, Wednesday, which will carry passengers going to all of the Scandinavian countries.

There are so many passengers going from Copenhagen to Oslo that Apollo has not succeeded in finding available flight capacity for this route, and a direct bus has therefore been set up, according to Haug.

– We understand that this is a long journey, but in this situation this is the best solution, he writes in an e-mail to VG.

– Our first priority has been to get our stranded customers home as quickly as possible.
