Sarah van Soelen, who spent a while last year hot news because she was André Hazes Jr.’s newest girlfriend at the time, shows her followers what she looked like when she was still snorting cocaine every day.
It’s no secret that Sarah van Soelen has a rather turbulent past. For years she was addicted to alcohol and drugs. Yesterday she had a Q&A session on Instagram and one of the questions that came up was: “Do you have any photo(s) of yourself when you were still using drugs/alcohol?”

Sarah has now shared it. In the photo she is wearing a purple clubbing outfit and looks quite worn out. “This is a photo from about four years ago. A totally different Sarah! I’m so glad I made this step two years ago!!”, says the Hazes-ex, who is now trying to make a career as an influencer.
Two years ago, Sarah decided to kick the habit. A good decision, she says. “I’ll tell you honestly, I certainly had a good time, but that didn’t mean I was really happy. The parties, sure, that was fun. Only I noticed that I started numbing myself more and more in order not to feel: the sadness and pain I was having.”
Drink and use
Sarah started to party more and more. “Drinking and using, my eyes became dull and at one point I was completely exhausted! It is and remains a silent killer…”
She will be clean for exactly two years on Friday, Sarah claims. “I’m very proud of myself for not even thinking about drinking or using again. I still go out for dinner and sometimes go to a party (no lockdown) only without alcohol and drugs. I feel very good and strong about it.”
Sarah denies
Sarah denies rumors that she and André are at the end of their relationship have gone on drugs. “Despite it being an eventful year, I have not relapsed and I have only come out stronger. So far so very proud of myself.”
Sarah still smokes. “The only bad thing I do. I still feel okay about it. But I would like to stop someday.”
