For two nights, in Brooklyn, two Aveyron chefs came to cook special Aveyron products to launch the project of the thirty-year-old man from Montrozier. Les Champs du Sud proposes to open the doors of Aveyron to New Yorkers, looking for an “authentic and off the beaten track” stay, to help them meet those who make the region move.
Like a taste of Aveyron, but on the plate. Friday and Saturday afternoons, in the heart of Brooklyn at Frog Wine Bar, in New York, Luc Pourrat, at the head of the restaurant La Maison, in Rodez, and Guillaume Méjane, from the Mayrihnac farm, spinning the aligot, on farçous preparation , all together with wine to match those flavors from Aveyron. This dinner, in the heart of New York, which brought together almost 200 guests, is the second phase of a project born last summer. After living across the Atlantic for 12 years, Daphné Jouanneteau took advantage of this opportunity to launch her new project: Les champs du sud. The idea is to offer trips to Aveyron for New Yorkers. Stays are also known as “country medicine”, for people looking for “authenticity and trips off the beaten track”, explained Daphné Jouanneteau who built her career around events.
What Aveyron has to offer
“It is a project that allows me to connect my two points of connection, of course New York but also Aveyron, where I grew up (Montrozier, editor’s note), and where I will ‘ return each time with great pleasure.”
How did the idea for such a project come about? “I still have a lot of childhood friends in Aveyron, and over the time I stayed since I was little, we realized that the region had improved a lot, especially with young people who had experience in places another and returned to the department to create. the business, says Daphné Jouanneteau. everything started from there, from this desire to discover and share this authenticity that characterizes Aveyron. To launch her concept, she surrounded herself with two friends, both from Aveyron. “It is very important that the people involved in the project know the region,” affirms the woman who was born in Chambray-les-Tours (Indre-et-Loire), in June 1993. Victor Verse , from Maison Rouge Studio, Artistic director for the entire LCDS brand. And Annabel Gueret who joined Victor Verse, “to work on the identity of the brand”. The first accommodation in Aveyron should be organized by next summer, with a handful of carefully selected people. “It is not a traveling group,” she assures, “Everyone must feel comfortable in the group and be in line with the project.”
The upcoming meetings are already in the mind of Daphné Jouanneteau who plans to open wide the doors of Aveyron to confirmed lovers.
