“I spent a few days on the holy Mount Athos to pray for our health and that of all our fellows”

The President of the Chamber of Deputies, Marcel Ciolacu, announced that during the Holy Week he spent several days on Holy Mount Athos to pray for “our health and that of all our fellows”, also sending a short message on the occasion of the Day of the Land Forces of the Romanian Army.

“I lived many blessed moments in this place, which is the most precious treasure of Orthodoxy, but I was most impressed by the Romanian monks who dedicated their lives to Christ in the Romanian shrines that have existed for hundreds of years in these holy places .

The meeting with Father Icon Jacob from the Athonite Cell Saint Tikhon, with Father Daniel or with the servants of God from the Romanian Hermitage Prodromu or from the Romanian cells Saint Great Martyr George and Saint Ipatie were moments of great joy, but also of pride for everything achieved by the Romanian Church over time.

I was also with Abbot Ephrem at the Vatoped Monastery at the Feast of Honoring the Icon of the Mother of God Eleovrytissa (Myrrh Fountain). From here I would like to wish all those who bear the name of the Holy Great Martyr George, the Bearer of Victory, the choicest thoughts of health, happiness and prosperity.
