“I sold because the kids weren’t interested in taking the business any further.”

Aurel and Marinică Potop, the two brothers who founded the Sarcom Râmnicu Vâlcea paint business 30 years ago, sold the company to the ROCA Investments fund, the investment division that is part of the Impetum group.

“I sold because I have no descendants to take the business forward, the children have other businesses and they were not interested in continuing with Sarcom. This sale plan has existed for a long time. The value of the transaction reflects what we wanted, it was of the order of tens of millions of euros “, said for ZF Marinică Potop.

He will remain involved for another year in the company’s transition to ROCA, and later he is thinking of starting a new business.

“I stay with other investments in the field of tourism, I have a recently completed hotel in Călimăneşti and I will probably develop another one, I have land. I remain active and involved in business, I will probably start a new business “, said Marinică Potop. Alina-Elena Vasiliu

Sarcom has only one factory, located in Mihăeşti, Vâlcea County, where approximately 120 employees work. The company also has four work points, in Bucharest, Timişoara, Cluj-Napoca and Constanţa, where it carries out distribution and storage activity, and a store near the factory in Mihăeşti. Last year, Sarcom had a turnover of 56.9 million lei, up 16.5% compared to 2019, and a net profit of 12.3 million lei, 52% over the previous year.
