Picture the scene – World of Warcraft, Shadowlands expansion, you stand in front of the Jailer, ready and determined to finally defeat him after too many attempts. It seems everything has been leading up to this moment – Sylvanas Windrunner and the fallen Anduin are nothing compared to the one behind the mysterious machinations in the Dungeon. And then, unexpectedly, one of the tanks leaves the game. Would you definitely want to remember it?
Hence Bettiold’s new WoW addon, aptly named I Remember You, which allows you to attach reminders to other World of Warcraft players. Blizzard’s MMORPG is, after all, full of people – it’s hard to remember everyone.
The principle is quite simple: you can attach a text note to different players by right-clicking on the character window and selecting “Remember”. Add whatever you want (in the example, Bettiold writes “we went fishing”), then save.
You will then automatically receive a notification if for some reason you and this player cross paths – for example, in a raid or a mythical dungeon. You can then use the /memory chat command to bring up a list of all your notes and edit them on the go.
Bettiold has already confirmed that he plans to “improve note editing,” so options like “right-click on a name in chat and manually enter” are in the works. While we are waiting for updates, you can download an existing version of the addon.
The Bettiold addon is surprisingly simple, but it’s exactly what active WoW players need – especially in anticipation of the upcoming updates and expansions, fans are in for a hot 2024.
