Many of her followers can share similar experiences: they sold – or bought – an expensive item through the second-hand platform, but were scammed by the stranger at the other end. In Damen’s case, that was a jacket from the Italian Etro, which originally cost around 1,000 to 2,000 euros. “Fake”, claims the buyer, a clever excuse not to have to pay according to Vinted’s guidelines and not to have to return the item.
