  • In the episode of Koh Lanta aired this Friday on TF1, it was agreed that the adventurer who arrived last in the immunity test would be eliminated immediately. Eric is this unsuccessful candidate.
  • “I tell myself that my torch will not have been extinguished. It can be a satisfaction for me to tell myself that it was not the others who eliminated me, “he relativizes with 20 minutes.
  • If he had the opportunity to repeat this adventure, Eric said that he would train more before leaving.

He was eliminated at the gates of the final, without going through the advice box. The episode of Koh Lanta aired this Friday on TF1 marked the end of the adventure for Eric. The 50-year-old Auvergne has paid the price for the candidate arriving last in the ranking of the immunity test to pack. For 20 minutes, he talks about his experience in the show.

How did you experience your elimination at this stage of the adventure and under these conditions?

I really blamed myself for having lost. I am a winner, a fighter, and I don’t like to lose. Afterwards, I tell myself that my torch will not have been extinguished. It can be a satisfaction for me to tell myself that it is not the others who eliminated me, but that I eliminated myself. I can only be happy with my journey.

Did you set a goal?

My goal is victory all the time. I’m not going to compete saying I’m going to lose. I wanted to be on the posts.

It seems that you have lived your adventure far from strategies and alliances, by relying on Régis’ instructions for the votes, is that the case?

It’s the case. After Charlotte left, I was the last of the reds. We had eliminated Teheiura, so Claude and Jessica were not happy. I had to listen to someone. Régis came to see me saying that if I wanted to continue the adventure, I had to vote for him. I followed his strategy and somewhere it paid off.

Régis is violently attacked on social networks. What does that remind you of?

It reminds me of contempt for to people who send messages like that. Especially since some people talk about his wife, his children … It can’t be done! Koh Lanta remains a game. People, with confinement, have gone a little bit crazy. It is unforgivable. It can go very far. Régis, I got him on the phone, I support him. In its place, I would have experienced it badly. My wife would have taken it very, very badly. There is a risk that it could lead to depression or things like that.

Are you calling other candidates?

I am in touch with everyone. Sam and I call each other every week. Pholien, we often call each other because at the beginning of the adventure, I was with him. Recently, I also had Ahmad, Régis, Alexandre and Naoil on the phone. With Teheiura, Claude, we send messages to each other. I get along with everyone and I want to stay in touch with them because we have experienced something strong.

Do you regret that a moment of your adventure or an aspect of your personality did not appear on the screen?

I think my personality has been shown well in the sense that I am someone who does not necessarily take sides, who gets along with everyone. I do not want to impose on others my ways of doing things. I am a smiling person, I like to please others.

If you had the opportunity to redo this Koh Lanta, what would you do differently?

I would train better before I go. And I would not eliminate Teheiura as fast.
