What does the Region Deal Zwolle Region entail
With the Region Deal Zwolle Region, central government and region are investing in eighteen projects from action lines that – each separately and in conjunction with each other – strengthen the Zwolle Region as a socially strong, circular, innovative and climate-proof growth region. As a result, the region is growing in balance to become the fourth top economic region in the Netherlands by 2030.
Largest investment ever in the Zwolle region
Regional chairman Peter Snijders in his foreword to the glossy: ¨The implementation of the Region Deal Zwolle Region was preceded by an inspiring journey. The purpose of the trip was to come up with an investment program together with the government to strengthen the widespread prosperity in our entire region. For and together with our companies and residents. And that investment program came about. Unique to our region. With a government grant of 22.5 million euros, we will be working on the implementation of the Regio Deal until 2023. Including co-financing from the region, this involves an investment amount of more than 80 million euros
Action lines
The Regio Deal is made up of action lines. In summary: action line 1 focuses on strengthening the economic structure through sustainable growth and circular entrepreneurship of SMEs. The second line of action involves making the labor market future-proof. And a balanced growth of the city and countryside takes shape from action line 3 and finally through action line 4 we will start working on climate solutions. In addition to these action lines, there is a fifth: the governance of the Zwolle region. Specific agreements have been made in the Regional Deal about monitoring and evaluation. “We are a learning network and from the learning experiences we gain from the Regional Deal we draw lessons that we want to share with the rest of the Netherlands”, says Snijders.
