Last week, the Ministry of Health announced that someone who had corona more than six months ago also needs only one vaccine to be protected. Previously, the advice was that you should not have had corona more than six months ago to suffice with one shot.
That saves many more people a second trip to the vaccination street and ensures that others can qualify for a shot more quickly. But what is the consequence for the corona passport with which we can go on holiday within the European Union?
Register infection
The Ministry of Health is clear about this: you also get the green light to cross the border with one shot, as long as you take care of it. that it is registered that you have had corona.
It is therefore important that you mention your infection when making a vaccination appointment. If you already have appointments, don’t just stay away from your second injection, but contact the GGD or GP.
“If you indicate yourself that you have had corona and can also demonstrate this with a positive test, we will register you as fully vaccinated after one shot for, for example, the corona admission tickets and the vaccination passport,” a spokesperson for the ministry adds.

All countries the same rules?
So can you safely board the car or plane? Or can Spain, for example, still demand two shots at the border?
The answer to the last question is no. If the Netherlands gives you the green light to travel as a vaccinated person, you will receive the green light everywhere. This has already been agreed within the EU. It is also the intention that the EU countries apply the same rules to their residents as much as possible. The EU health ministers will discuss this further next week.
However, it is arranged in the EU that Member States retain the right to take their own additional health measures. Suppose that the infections suddenly rise again in the Netherlands, then Spain can impose an extra measure on Dutch tourists. Such as a negative PCR test or a mandatory quarantine.
Six questions about the corona pass answered
In the video below you will get more information about the EU corona passport, which should be valid at the end of June. Not only is vaccination registered, but also, for example, a negative test result. You can also cross the border with that. A vaccination is not a requirement to travel within the EU.
