They had an acute confrontation with the president of Freedom of Navigation, Zoe Konstantopoulou with the deputy of New Democracy, Dimitris Markopoulos within the Plenary of the Parliament.
While on the floor, Ms. Konstantopoulou referred to “young men” regarding the 11 ND MPs who submitted a question to Kostis Hatzidakis about the bad loans, making a parallel, that she is not like them.
This provoked the reaction of the MP, who hastened to defend the blue MPs by shouting that “they are voted by the Greek people”, in contrast, as he said, to the MPs of Plefsis Eleftheria who called them “appointed”.
Mrs. Konstantopoulou attacked the MP, calling him the “person for the dirty jobs”, but emphasizing that she is proud of the MPs of her party. In fact, he used harsh expressions for Mr. Markopoulos such as that he behaves like a “slug”.
The deputy of New Democracy protested saying that the president of Plefsis Eleftherias is bullying him.
The efforts of the vice-president of the Parliament, Ioannis Plakiotakis, to lower the tone were constantly falling on deaf ears, with the result that the confrontation between the two lasted about ten minutes. In fact, at the end, Mr. Plakiotakis asked for the characterizations to be deleted from the minutes, with Ms. Konstantopoulou saying that she does not consent and does not take anything back from what she said.
Watch a special excerpt from the fight:
Z. KONSTANTOPOULOU: Because I am not like the 11 lads…
D. MARKOPOULOS: They are voted by the Greek people. You have appointed your whole company.
Z. KONSTANTOPOULOU: Who are you talking to like that? Did Mr. Frouzis of Novartis appoint you?
G. PLAKIOTAKIS, PRESIDENT: Mr. Markopoulos, you will have the floor in your second argument. Please don’t say that.
Z. KONSTANTOPOULOU: Go on, the entire Greek Parliament has made you proud to congratulate the “Gourlid” committee of Tembo.
(Voices from below off mic)
Z. KONSTANTOPOULOU: You are the person for the dirty work, you who as a supposed journalist wrote elegies about Michaloliakos, you wrote a commissioned report for Novartis. You are the parastatal to whom Mr. Mitsotakis entrusted the dirty work of covering up the crime of Tempi… Do not threaten the MPs Mr. Markopoulos…. The face for the dirty work.
Z. KONSTANTOPOULOU: excuse me but because I’m not fat like you…
(Voices from below off mic)
Z. KONSTANTOPOULOU: You came to tell me that my grandmother was your father’s teacher, because then you were licking. I never acted like a slug. The person who undertakes the dirty work for Tempi and they collected you. And now you will be picked up… who you choose, you show who you are.
(Voices from below off mic)
Z. KONSTANTOPOULOU: All of this started from the question of where Hatzidakis is, parastatal methods in the SW, all this bullying and silencing of a political opponent and leader, happened, because we are disturbing.
D. MARKOPOULOS: The lady practices bowling for us…
Z. KONSTANTOPOULOU: He says to pick me up…
D. MARKOPOULOS: You will take them… we also have jobs.
Z. KONSTANTOPOULOU: Do you have jobs or chores?
