Leonid Sheyngezikht: “I make more money on YouTube than on Futures”
The Bulgarian tennis player explained how complicated it is to make a living from tennis on the ITF Future circuit. Leonid Sheyngezikht added that he earns more with his Youtube channel than as a tennis player.

Leonid Sheyngezikht assured that he currently earns more money as a Youtuber with his channel than at the ITF Futures. The Bulgarian explained the changes he would like to see in this circuit and in the Challengers. He also assured that you cannot make a living from tennis in these tournaments until you win the titles. Finally, he explained to us his short-term objectives.
The life of an ITF tennis player
«For me it is very difficult. To advance to an ATP or Challengers level you have to pass previous round matches, very tough duels. Furthermore, here in Spain there is a high level. You have to give everything. Either you give everything or you stay there, like me, 1100«.
Can you survive in the category?
«I don’t think so, it’s impossible. In this category you do quarters or semis and you do zero. You have to win tournaments to live«.
The idea of TBN Tennis
«As a child I always liked to watch tennis, I liked to watch videos and when I started playing ITF Futures I thought. Why don’t I make videos for the little kids or people and let them see what it’s like? Many think that we have a lot of money and in Futures we don’t win. It’s my hobby. I like recording, I like editing«.
Can you live?
«I think so. I make more money on YouTube than on Futures, that’s for sure. Since there is no money, in the end with advertising it gives you a lot«.
Things to improve on the ITF circuit
«I would put more money, that’s for sure, so that the players have more desire to play. You can play very well and then you lose. That makes you lose confidence and money. I would put more tournaments. More Challengers for people to play and enjoy«.

«Depends. It depends on where it is played. I would like to play more Challengers because there is a higher level, ball boys, there are judges and you behave much better. You feel inside that you are a professional tennis player, not like in Futures where sometimes there are no judges«.
Short term goals
«The goal is to be able to leave YouTube for four or five months and give everything to achieve my goals.. My goals are to get into the 700th in the ranking and then see how it goes.«.
