Issa Hilal Al-Huzami
* 51 years of safety and security, love and peace, prosperity and stability, growth and prosperity, under the shadow of the foundation and built by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, and added to it the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him, nurture and develop him. Their successor, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Zayed, President of the State, may God protect him. In the east and west, may God have mercy on “Zayed and Khalifa” and bless our leader, Mohamed bin Zayed and his brothers, the rulers of the Emirates, so that we can enjoy and live up to their support and be happy with their grace.. “Amen, Lord of the worlds.”
* It is a fond memory and a precious occasion for all of us, it generates in us all the meanings of pride of belonging to the Fatherland, and arouses in our hearts every feeling of joy and happiness, as in it we evoke the achievements of our fathers and grandparents to celebrate them, thank them and be grateful to them, and above all to value and appreciate them and commit to preserving them for our children and grandchildren after us. The merit of its owners is one of the values of loyalty. It requires us to recognize that we are a very fortunate generation, as we have lived with the early pioneers who laid the foundations of the state of the union, and we have also lived with us, the great leaders who leapt with our renaissance and civilization to mountain peaks and aspirations of the clouds, and has soared with our dreams and aspirations into the spaces of the stars and planets. In turn, it is a great blessing for which we have much to thank God , and work hard to continue the march with more determination, stronger will and greater ambition.
* O people of sports and athletes, God has bestowed upon us many of the gains and achievements of the State of the Union, and as we are an integral part of that system which is described as successful, we mobilize resolve and muster all our resolve , enthusiasm and passion, to correct the path and the march, in order to be an active part of this beautiful system. We have had enough, or rather we are tired of it, of the saying that the return of sport and its returns are never commensurate with the its expenditure and resources, and if we now look around us and look at our peers and neighbours, with critical ‘Continental’ eyes and broad ‘World Cup’ insight, we will realize that we have fallen far short of us themselves, because our sport In words and in deeds, in truth and in deeds, deserves a much better reality than it is now.
* Last but not least.. many have reproached me for the saying “our sport is not good” with which I concluded last week’s article, but I was and still am convinced that honesty with oneself is the shortest way to convince others, even if the haters hate it.
In conclusion, on this occasion, I say with all my love: “I love you, my country” and Happy New Year.
