“I Learn to Swim” Program Promotes Water Safety Skills for Children Aged 6 to 12

The municipal swimming pool of Decazeville welcomes the operation “I learn to swim” which is renewed. For this summer, five sessions of 10 sessions each have been scheduled. The passing tests that conclude sessions 3 and 4 have just taken place. “These tests are not easy to obtain, we have about 25% success, but the children have three years to graduate. The tests for the 5th and final session will take place on Friday”specifies Bernard Dalmon, co-president of the Dauphins decazevillois.

All the clubs of the FFN are involved in the acquisition of swimming skills, a real challenge for society. The objective of the “Learning to swim” plan, a civic operation par excellence, is to enable children aged 6 to 12 to acquire the basics necessary to evolve in the water in complete safety, surrounded by qualified personnel. Thus, young children have a positive experience of water by developing the appropriate skills and competences to evolve in the water, in a restricted space, with ease and independently. Diplomas will punctuate these sessions.

Bernard Dalmon would like to add: “Parents have to be vigilant when their children are in between, that is to say, they are starting to manage in the water, but they do not have enough control of the right gestures, especially in the shots. water, in the sea or in private swimming pools.”
