The planes of the two candidates, who are in the US state for political rallies of their respective parties, landed within minutes of each other.

JD Vance walked across the tarmac to meet with reporters gathered near Kamala Harris’ plane.

“I just want to look at my future plane,” he said, a smile on his face, as he approached the journalists.

“But I also wanted to go and greet the vice president and ask her why Kamala Harris refuses to answer questions from the media,” he continued.

The man who could become vice president of the United States if Donald Trump is elected on November 5 then boasted of having “respect for journalists.”

“I also thought that the journalists who follow her must feel lonely. I have at least enough respect for all of you and for the Americans you inform to come and talk to you and answer a few questions,” he said.

The Republican said he had fun waving to Kamala Harris as she left in a car.

“I’m glad I did it and I’m glad I’m here in Wisconsin trying to convince people to vote for us, not just to deliver another scripted speech,” he concluded before answering a few questions from reporters.
