The 12th session of the Luxor African Film Festival witnessed the honoring of the Egyptian artist, Mohamed Ramadan, at the opening ceremony that was held on Saturday evening inside the Luxor Temple, where Ramadan delivered a speech on the sidelines of his honor, in which he expressed his “happiness and anger” at the same time, stressing that he was happy because of the award. Ramadan thanked the festival’s organizers, especially Sayed Fouad, the festival’s president, who confirmed Ramadan that he would be the author of his new film, as well as Magdy Ahmed Ali, who would direct the film.

The Egyptian artist confirmed that he is in the midst of the Pharaonic civilization, wishing to present a process that will remain, as the Pharaohs excelled in the art of architecture, and presented their own civilization, so he wishes to present something that lives more than the Pharaonic civilization, which is artwork.
Ramadan indicated that they will advance the matter through the tools of their time in order to preserve the great civilization that the ancestors made.
However, the Egyptian artist did not hide his anger at the failure of the governor of Luxor to attend the opening ceremony, as he confirmed that he wished that the governor would be present in appreciation of them, especially since all governors in other governorates seek to attend the activities of the festivals that are held for them.
Muhammad Ramadan thanked the people of Luxor for the good reception, and in statements after the end of the ceremony, Ramadan gave the honor to the late artist Omar Sharif, stressing that he is like his spiritual father, and he is credited with what he has achieved so far.
