Swiss hockey forward Nino Niederreiter signed a contract with the Nashville Predators club. He signed a two-year, $8 million contract as an unrestricted free agent.
For the 29-year-old forward, it will be the fourth job in the NHL. In 2010, he was drafted by the New York Islanders in the 1st round from the fifth place, where he worked until June 2013, when he was traded to Minnesota. The Swiss played the last four seasons in the Carolina Hurricanes jersey. Last season, he collected 44 points (24+20) in 75 games during the regular season.
“They are a very competitive team, characterized by physical hockey. Now I have a chance to play for them and I hope it will turn out perfectly.” said Niederreiter to the AP agency. In 14 playoff meetings, the Swiss added another 5 points.
