I Have to Reduce Going Home

KOMPAS.com – A number of people feel burdened by the increase in the price of Pertamax fuel oil (BBM).

One of them is a resident from the city of Padang, West Sumatra (West Sumatra), Boy Taqwa (54). He felt the price increase of Pertamax was too high.

Every day Boy uses a motorbike for activities and every day he also uses Pertamax as vehicle fuel.

“Moreover, I used to go home to Pasaman Barat twice a month and need a lot of gasoline,” said Boy, when met TribunPadang, at the Kampung Pondok gas station, Pariaman, Friday (1/4/2022).

Because of the increase in the price of Pertamax, like it or not, Boy had to reduce his routine of returning home to West Pasaman.

“Maybe in the future I will return to my hometown only once a month,” he said.

For a trip to the West Coast, it usually consumes about 3.5 liters of fuel.

With Pertamax’s current price of IDR 12,750 per liter, a motorcycle tank when fully filled costs IDR 45,000.

A resident of Kampung Baru, Kota Pariaman, Kamal (42) who works as a ketengan fuel trader, also poured out his heart about the increase in Pertamax fuel prices.

“I am aware of this Pertamax pricing, of course I object to the high price increase,” he said.

Once in five days, he buys Pertamax and other types of fuel at the gas station.

For Pertamax, before the price increase, he bought each 21 liters at a price of Rp. 200,000.

“Meanwhile, with Pertamax’s price of Rp 12,750 per liter, at least I have to prepare Rp 270,000,” said Kamal.

He estimates that the Pertamax type of fuel in his kiosk will be empty of enthusiasts, because previously it was only sold for Rp. 10,000 per liter.
