On May 5, at the Music House “Daile”, the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra’s (LNSO) chamber music concert program will feature a concert “Schuman. Hindemits. Dzenitis”, in which the piano quartet Quadra (violinist Arvīds Zvagulis, violinist Pēteris Trasuns, cellist Kārlis Klotiņš and pianist Rihards Plešanovs) have again invited the clarinetist to collaborate Gunti Kuzmu.

Concert program: Robert Schuman Piano Quartet, Paul Hindemith Quartet for clarinet, violin, cello and piano, as well as LNSO resident composer Andris Dzenitis opus “Against the breadth of clocks fall asleep”. The new work was made after Quadra and Gunta Kuzma’s call, inspired by long hikes along the Baltic coast, the sounds include both opaque infinity and a warm and familiar sense of refuge.

“The new opus can be considered a mental relative of my second symphony” Warm Wind “.

In a conversation with Inta Pīrāga, Andris reveals how to learn to save time not only for others, but also for herself; for friendship and collaboration with the piano quartet Quadra guys and clarinetist Guntis Kuzmu. It is about Andris’s so important walks along the sea, which he compares to a pilgrimage, because during that he can immerse himself, find peace and harmony, which is then embodied in music.
We also learn more about Andris’ pedagogical work – how to find the right approach for different age groups and that the composition teacher must also be a psychologist and therapist. And finally, have the plane tickets to Hamburg already been bought, where the premiere of the piece “Silver” with Iveta Apkalns at the organ and Herbert Shuh at the piano will take place at the Elbe Philharmonic on June 15. Andris has already had the opportunity to get to know the concert hall, its acoustics and Johannes Klais organ building created by the organ.
