Starting May 21, Gregory of Constantinople’s film “Thunderstorm” will be available on Premier’s video platform for free – an adaptation of the play by Alexander Ostrovsky, whose action has been transferred to modern Russia, but the classic text has been preserved. Like Ostrovsky, events unfold in the fictional city of Kalinov; Katerina is married to a limp Tikhon, who agrees in everything with the imperious mother – Kabanikha. Suddenly Katerina falls in love with a relative of the mayor of the city (he was a merchant with Ostrovsky). Katerina in the film of Constantinople was played by Lyubov Aksenova, Kabanikhu – Victoria Tolstoganova. Also, the film starred Ivan Makarevich, Alexander Kuznetsov, Maria Shalaeva, Alexei Makarov and others. “Medusa” presents the premiere of the fragment – the first action, the fifth phenomenon, Kabanikha argues with Tikhon and Katerina.
