Milan – “I had cancer, nothing scares me anymore”. Thus, a few years ago, Silvio Berlusconi told about his illness, one of the many health challenges, before the positivity to Covid-19. It was May 1997, when he underwent a prostate operation for a malignant tumor. In November 2006, during the final rally at the Casa delle Libertà event in Montecatini, Berlusconi fell ill on live TV: he passed out and collapsed on stage but recovered shortly after so that he refused to get on the ambulance. A collapse, he will later explain, due to the heat, fatigue and antibiotics taken for a meniscus operation, carried out a few weeks earlier in Belgium in a clinic that the footballers go to. The owner of Mediaset was later hospitalized for 48 hours in December 2009 when he was hit by a statuette thrown by a man in the Christmas crowd.

The medical bulletin talks about a nasal septal fracture, a torn-bruised wound and two injured teeth, with a prognosis of 20 days. Images of Berlusconi with a bloody face go around the world. In 2013, in the middle of the Ruby process, the photo of the former premier with large, very dark sun lenses due to uveitis, an inflammation of the eyes: he is hospitalized but the inflammation worsens the following year. The blue leader has often been treated for heart diseases, such as implantation and replacement of the peacemaker.

In June 2016, after a serious cardiac anomaly for which he risks his life, he undergoes a delicate operation to replace the aortic valve. In October of the same year, the day after his 80th birthday, he flew to the United States to undergo a series of medical check-ups.

In 2019 Berlusconi was then hospitalized twice: in April he faced an emergency operation for intestinal obstruction; in November for investigations after a fall in Croatia, where he was involved in the work of the EPP congress, there is fear of a fracture of the femur but it is only a contusion.
