I go for it: The Minister has confirmed that he will go to the parliamentary elections with a new project

The Minister announced this on Monday evening Facebook profile, where he also expressed joy at the results of the weekend regional elections. “Despite the coronavirus, more people came to the polls than before. And they showed that they are no longer bored with the government party, “Minář summed up the election results.

According to the Minister, in order for the elections to turn out even better in a year, it is necessary to get even more people who want the Czechia to go in a different direction than in recent years. Although the government movement YES by Prime Minister Andrej Babiš won the regional elections in ten of the 13 regions, in some regions coalitions of more parties are forming against him with less electoral gain.

The Minister reiterated that he wants to create a project with other personalities that will change the dynamics of the game and address voters that the current opposition cannot address. It intends to contribute to this by connecting, mobilizing, charging people and giving them hope. With thousands of volunteers, he wants to prepare “the largest contact campaign in the history of the Czech Republic”.

“We left a lot of people at the mercy of populists. Let’s offer them an alternative and convince them that their voice matters, “Minář wrote. “I believe that in a year’s time, together with the current opposition, we will celebrate a convincing victory in the big elections. The wind is turning, “he added.

The minister from the leadership of Milion left for a while at the end of September, today he left the association. His successor, Benjamin Roll, announced that the association was essentially a bottom-up civic initiative and as such would never run in the election. According to political scientists, Minář’s new political party would weaken the opposition.

A million moments arose after the parliamentary elections in 2017, which won YES. The association organizes demonstrations in which it criticizes Babiš for, among other things, conflict of interest and non-compliance with election promises. Last June, according to the organizers, up to 250,000 people took part in the largest demonstration of the Million Moments at Letná in Prague.
