Roger Federer, twenty-time Grand Slam champion and tennis legend, turns 40 on August 8th. Last year he missed most of the season due to a double operation that temporarily halted his career and forced him into a long absence from the tour.
He has decided to skip the Monte Carlo, Madrid and Rome tournament on the calendar and the Swiss champions will return in a few days for a relatively stress-free engagement at the home tournament at the ATP 250 in Geneva.
The idea of the Swiss is to use this tournament to better prepare for Roland Garros, a tournament in which he will certainly not start as a favorite, but in which Roger certainly wants to do well against the best in world tennis.
