Martin Drent is not a fan of FC Twente and SC Heerenveen to say the least. The former attacker, who became a public favorite at FC Groningen, therefore regrets that Ron Jans is now working in the Grolsch Veste.
Drent appreciates the practice of the trainer. “It is a pity that he first went to Heerenveen and is now with FC Twente”, the ex-striker of FC Groningen says to Football International. “Those are just the clubs that we as Groningen supporters hate. We weren’t friends, but we laughed and he did an amazing job at Groningen.”
The former attacker himself had little appetite to play football in Heerenveen or Enschede. “I was polled by those clubs, but I preferred not to play football than to go there!” Says Drent. “I don’t find Heerenveen and Twente pussy clubs, but I hope they degrade every year. When Twente relegated after that fraud, man, that was a holiday. I know this is hooligan behavior, but I mean it.”
