Didi Hamann finds clear words. The “Sky” expert criticized Bayern and Marcel Sabitzer after Freiburg’s embarrassing change mistake.
Last Saturday, the German leaders caused heated discussions during the 4-1 win at the Breisgauers. After a change mistake, the Munich team played with twelve men for 17 seconds. Team manager Kathleen Krüger held up Kingsley Coman’s old number, who didn’t feel addressed, no player left the field, while ÖFB legionnaire Sabitzer was already running onto the pitch. Referee Christian Dingert allowed play to continue.
After minutes of discussion, the game finally continued. After an objection from Freiburg, the DFB is now investigating. Without the objection nothing would have happened and the association would not have acted on its own. The fact that it came to this was publicly denounced by the people of Munich.
“Rule violation that must be punished”
Statements that Hamann cannot understand. “None of the Bavarians have admitted their guilt. They held up the board with the wrong number. If I make a mistake, I have to admit it to myself,” Hamann saw the error on the part of Munich in “Goal”. “Now pushing Freiburg into the corner of unsportsmanlike is bottomless,” added the 48-year-old.

“It’s not just Freiburg’s right, it’s even their duty to lodge an objection. It’s about the integrity of the league. I fully understand that. It’s a violation of the rules that must be punished,” added the former Bayern kicker.
“Don’t know what Sabitzer was thinking”
ÖFB team kicker Sabitzer was also included in the criticism. “I don’t know what he was thinking either. Of course, if you go in, you only do it when the substituted player has left the field,” said Hamann.

The statements made by Michael Gerlinger, Bavaria’s legal director, are particularly incomprehensible. “The culmination was the self-important quote from him, he said: ‘We are convinced that the DFB sports court can only come to one decision according to the applicable regulations: the rating of our 4-1 victory is preserved.’ That’s on self-importance,” says Hamann.
Hamann demands punishment
For the 48-year-old it is clear that Bayern must be punished. “Whether it’s proportionate if Bayern should lose the points is another question. But it’s clear that they have to be sanctioned.”
