He is 23 years old. He admits he slapped his girlfriend. And he doesn’t really see the problem. “He had nothing, a few small traces,” he claims before the criminal court of Thionville. “Small traces that have left three days of total incapacity for work,” replies the astonished president.
On the night of December 3, the young woman called the police in a panic. She will then describe an evening of violence, in her home in Serémange-Erzange, where the boy slaps her, kicks her, chases her to the bathroom, tears her hair, throws her to the ground, kicks her, picks her up hair and punches her in the face. He then forces her to take him home to Thionville. In the car he spits on her, slaps her again, threatens her and bites her arm with which she tries to defend herself.
The victim stops the car on a bend, near a forest. She flees, abandons the vehicle. Other motorists stop him, support him, warn her family. Her assailant left stranded will be arrested quickly.
In prison, live
He denies the outburst of violence with which he is accused. He minimizes two slaps. He explains that he hit his girlfriend out of jealousy, “just like anyone else.” “I saw a message that I didn’t like,” he replies without batting an eye in the defendants’ box, escorted by a patrol. With an ironic look and a nonchalant expression, he ends up muttering again: “I regret what I did. “Without fear of an exaltation:“ Next time you can put me 15 years, ”he suggests, believing that this hearing is not worth it yet.
On the contrary, the judge replies with the referral order, i.e. with the immediate placement in pre-trial detention. He sentences twelve months in prison, three of which are closed. The conditional suspension of the nine-month sentence will be subject to the obligation to work and above all to the prohibition of contact with the victim for two years, as soon as he is released. The court also reversed the suspended sentences handed down to the defendant in 2018 for aggravated violence in particular. In total, he leaves for ten months in prison.
