Lina had not made two starts in three days in the competition for a long time, but the expected big excitement was not there. In the final, the only Latvian javelin thrower managed a good warm-up and pre-start routine, however, she failed to reach the maximum in the throwing sector.

“I didn’t hit a single throw in the javelin, which means that I didn’t really reach my result until the end. Such a technical fault, we should try to fix it before the European Championship,” said Mūze. “I did everything, I left all my energy, I’m very tired right now. It required a lot of strength. In general, I’m very happy, I’m just tired after the competition. I shouldn’t be sad about the 6th place. Of course, the best result of the season would have given me an award-winning place, a place in the top three . But it wasn’t, and you should be happy that it was at least 61 meters.”
Lina is pleased that she was the best of European javelin throwers,
and it boosts self-confidence ahead of the continental championships in Germany in August.
Muse explained that some strong European javelin throwers did not compete in the world championships, so we can expect an even more interesting fight in the European championships, which will start in Munich on August 15.
It has already been announced that Mūze became the first Latvian javelin thrower in the women’s competition to win the world championship managed to enter the top six. Lina secured the 6th place with a result of 61.26 meters, which allowed her to be in the TOP10 at the world championships for the first time.
