According to multiple online communities on the 9th, a video titled ‘Chinese restaurant that doesn’t serve radish radish because you’re a woman’ was recently posted on the YouTube channel ‘YunSuki, a woman who drinks alone’.
In the video, Yoon Sook-hee, who visited Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do, said, “I came to Gunsan, so shouldn’t I eat Jjambbong?” and visited a Chinese restaurant. Afterwards, while Mr. Yoon was eating Samseon Jjamppong, which cost 10,000 won, he looked at the table next to him and realized that he was the only one who did not receive kkakdugi.
In response, Mr. Yoon said, “The other customers came with pickled radish and radish radish. I only got pickled radish,” and added, “Just because I came alone doesn’t mean I didn’t give radish radish. I may have forgotten and didn’t give it to you, so I’ll ask later.”
In the video that was actually released, there were radish radish and pickled radish on another table, but on Yoon’s table there was only pickled radish.
As soon as the employee passed by, Mr. Yoon asked, “Why don’t I give you kkakdugi?” The employee replied, “Women usually don’t eat it. Do you want it? If you want, I can give it to you.” He had already finished eating.
In response, Ms. Yoon said, “Is there a woman who doesn’t eat kkakdugi? If she had asked her in the first place if she wanted to eat kkakdugi, something like this wouldn’t have happened. She makes people feel sad with kkakdugi.”
Afterwards, when Mr. Yoon headed to the checkout counter, the employee emphasized again, “Why didn’t you tell me? Women rarely eat radish radish kimchi.” Yoon Sook-hee, who could no longer bear it, pointed out, “There are cases where people say they won’t eat it if it’s given to them first, but is there a case where they don’t give it to a woman?”
The employee explained, “I’m sorry. That’s why I usually don’t give it to you. If you needed it, I would have given it to you if you told me.”
Netizens who saw this said, “There are definitely restaurants that blame the customers for their own mistakes.” “How do the customers know whether this restaurant serves radish radish or not?” “I think they didn’t serve Jjambbong because they ordered it.” “You could just say they forgot.” “Is that how you do business?” “This is a business method I have never seen before.” “The logic of not eating kkakdugi because you are a woman is unheard of.” “This is a place that should teach staff kindness rather than taste.” “Should they give it to you first?” People responded with things like, “I have to ask whether or not the customer should ask for it first.” “You’re fighting with the customer.”
