/ world today news/ I don’t deal with politics. As a representative of big business, I am not indifferent to what policy a government pursues. This is what the chairman of the Board of Directors of the “Corporate Commercial Bank” Tsvetan Vassilev, who is also the owner of the “Botev”-Plovdiv-football club, said in an interview for “Press”.
“I criticized Mr. Borisov‘s office when I saw that his decisions were not correct according to my understanding. It’s not that my words were heard. Rather, there was an extremely negative attitude towards Bulgarian business in general. I don’t know where Mr. Borisov has drawn the conclusion that I am hardly the person behind the government (ed. – the “Oresharski” cabinet), but it is built on an absolutely wrong basis. For me, it is important what conditions it will create for business the cabinet, not who will be appointed as a minister. So far, I cannot say that Mr. Oresharski’s team is working in favor of certain circles. Time will tell who how right he was. At least I think that now the attitude towards business is normal, in contrast to the edifying tone that was held by the previous government,” Vassilev points out.
On the occasion of the constant protests of 50 days demanding the resignation of the cabinet and early elections, the banker says: “I am a supporter of stability in the country. Whether it can be guaranteed by an early vote – I deeply doubt it. Rather, it seems to me that the parties that claim to know and can manage the country should listen to the views of business, because at the moment there is no idea, there is no concept of exiting the country from the crisis from the crisis, not panaceas. How and in what political format is another matter.
But GERB’s claims that they can and will manage the country the way they did until a few months ago do not seem serious to me. Their financial and economic policy was a failure. A serious proof of this is the fact that, as a country with the lowest incomes in the EU, we also realized the second largest drop in these incomes according to Eurostat data for 2012. Such an argument does not need comment. If you realize stability at the expense of increasing misery – I’m sorry to say it, but this is not the right approach,” concludes Tsvetan Vassilev.
