I can’t bear it, 205 toddlers in Bangka are positive for Covid-19

The Covid-19 Task Force (Satgas) of Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands, recorded that as many as 205 toddlers or children under five years old in the area were infected with Covid-19 due to close contact with patients.

“Toddlers who are known to be positive are generally in close contact with their parents or family members who first tested positive for Covid-19,” explained Bangka Regency Covid-19 Task Force Spokesperson Boy Yandra, in Sungailiat, Bangka, Sunday (11/7/2021), as quoted Among.

From the results of tracing, tracking and testing, there were 21 infants under the age of four who were exposed. Then, there was one positive toddler aged 1.5 years, from Sungailiat District, who died.

“Toddlers and babies who are positive for Covid-19 immediately receive intensive health care from the medical team. Until now there are still a number of toddlers who are undergoing health recovery,” he explained. Also Read: Picking up the ball, Anies Pursues the Target of 8.8 Million Vaccinations in Jakarta

For these many cases, Boy reminded the entire community, especially families with toddlers or babies, to be strictly disciplined in implementing health protocols. This is because the spread of Covid-19 cases has been evenly distributed at all ages.

“The discipline of implementing health procedures is the right step to prevent the spread of the Corona virus, considering that the cases have reached all age levels,” he said.
