I am not interested in the efficiency … – Energy transition: finally abolish the fuel cell car!

… but where the electricity comes from.

The currently even worse efficiency with hydrogen is completely irrelevant to me if the electricity is generated from renewable energies. And this is currently being taken care of. Hydrogen that is generated directly in the PV park or, as in the H2 initiative of the Nordic federal states, in a wind farm. Before commissioning, you only have to make one-off investments; the actual energy is available for free and is guaranteed to be clean and climate-neutral.

However, the electricity at the e-filling stations comes from the usual mix, and therefore also from coal and atom. And where does the private household get its electricity from? As cheap as possible, so dirty. Or does everyone suddenly only have green electricity at home? Any landlord? Any supermarket? Is it everywhere at every tap what kind of electricity is that?

The hydrogen is necessary in traffic alone to regeneratively convert the power grid and to buffer the energy production that only runs when the sun is shining, the wind is blowing or the reservoir is producing, and just not to add dirty electricity when everyone is at night Electric cars are rarely mentioned …

So instead of always playing direct electricity against hydrogen with the pseudo-argument “efficiency”, I would hope that it is legally forbidden to operate charging stations with dirty electricity and to be able to produce hydrogen generally only with renewables.
