Hyundai Sonata sedan for the Russian market, which is produced at the Kaliningrad Avtotor, was transferred from SKD to full-cycle production. The transition to a new scheme made it possible to add new options to the basic equipment of the model, the press service of the South Korean brand reports.
The new production cycle included, among other things, a body welding stage. After the transition to the new scheme, all Sonata vehicles for Russia will have heated washer nozzles and an internal handle for the luggage compartment lid as standard equipment. From the Comfort version, a heated windscreen and an electromechanical parking brake will be available. The Style option will display a virtual instrument cluster.
Two new features have been added to the Safety Sense active safety suite. It is a system for monitoring the oncoming traffic when turning left for safe passage of intersections, as well as a function for detecting people and luggage in the back row. The latter system reminds the driver of children, pets and personal belongings left in the rear of the vehicle.
In addition, Hyundai Sonata will have a special version of WAY for Russia, which will be equipped with a Yandex.Auto multimedia complex with an 8-inch touchscreen display, and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto interfaces.
In Russia, the eighth generation Hyundai Sonata is available with a 150-horsepower two-liter engine, as well as a 2.5-liter engine producing 180 horsepower. Both units work in conjunction with a six-speed automatic transmission. Car prices start at 1,569,000 rubles.
