Hyundai Sonata, anonymous and cheap

Autovisie was still driving the sedan in 2005. The conclusion is just like his appearance: not exciting. “The design is not very exciting to say the least, there will be no station wagon and a diesel engine is missing from the delivery program. At least for the time being, because in April 2006 the Sonata 2.0 CRDi will be available with a two-liter common rail turbo diesel (125 hp, 285 Nm). “The dashboard of the new Hyundai Sonata is by no means wrong in terms of shape, but the materials are of an un-European level: hard and gray in color. The boot lid can be opened from the inside with this yellow handle. In the back you have plenty of legroom and up to a length of 1.90 meters there is no lack of headroom. The trunk, with a capacity of 523 liters, does not disappoint either.”

“In the first driving impression, the Hyundai Sonata scores more negative than positive points. Compared to the previous generation, the newcomer is not a huge improvement. Its engine runs smoothly (with a consumption of 1 to 9.1, it likes quite a bit), the interior is spacious (very spacious even), but it does not excel when it comes to driving characteristics.”

“In fact, the new Sonata is at the level where most European mid-sized cars were already years ago. If there was a friendly price in return, there would be something to be said for it. However, this is not the case: the Hyundai Sonata 2.4i automatic costs € 28,295 and for that money a stability system and emergency braking assistance are missing. European competitors (with a more attractive design) are often priced the same.”

De Hyundai Sonata occasion

Although the Hyundai was not the best choice for you in 2005, today you can buy the car for next to nothing. The most expensive we could find costs 5.900 euro, is from 2010 and has just under 122,000 kilometers of experience. This is the version with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder petrol engine.
