Hyundai Shown Stargazer, Toyota Relax

Jakarta

Hyundai is starting to show the grille of one of the Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) products that will be introduced soon, the Hyundai Stargazer. This Korean car is also a concern, considering that Hyundai previously preferred to play and establish itself as the first manufacturer to produce electric cars in Indonesia. Then what is the opinion of Toyota, the market leader, regarding the emergence of the Stargazer?

The presence of the Hyundai Stargazer in Toyota’s eyes is not too scary. Toyota calls the appearance of the Hyundai Stargazer a positive signal that proves the MPV market is a sexy market for Indonesians.

“What is certain is that with the increase in players, especially in this segment (MPV), we see that the first is that the market potential will be more positive, and the impact will be clear to consumers later because there are more choices,” said Marketing Director of PT Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM). ), Anton Jimmi Suwandy to detikOto.

However, Toyota does not stay silent with the presence of the Stargazer, and chooses to focus on producing the best products to meet the needs of Indonesian consumers.

“What is certain is that we will continue to see the development of needs, so that we can provide a complete product, technology, feature and service package as needed,” said Anton.

The appearance of the Hyundai Stargazer has been officially released, the name of the car has already appeared on the Jakarta Motor Vehicle Sales Value (NJKB) page. On that page, you can see that there are six variants of the Hyundai Stargazer, with automatic and manual transmission options. Regarding the price, the NJKB starts from Rp. 155 million to the highest type of Rp. 202 million. However, this price has not been subject to other taxes such as PPnBM, VAT, and BBNKB.

However, Hyundai needs to know that Toyota is still the king of the Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) car segment, with a market dominated by the Toyota Avanza and Veloz, followed by Mitsubishi Xpander, Daihatsu Xenia, Ertiga, Wuling Confero, Mobilio to Livina.

As in the previous detikOto news, until May 2022, the sales of the Toyota Avanza are the most in this low MPV class. During the first five months of 2022, sales of the Toyota Avanza reached 19,164 units. This is wholesale sales or distribution from factories to dealers in data from the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo).

Next, the second best-selling low MPV is the Toyota Veloz. The Avanza twins sold 16,661 units. Then in third place is the Mitsubishi Xpander with 13,204 units.
