Many things have been said about this car, especially positive ones. But why has this Hyundai prototype been so successful? Here are the reasons why the N Vision 74 coupe is such a wonderful surprise.
His presentation it happened a short time ago during the so-called “N-day” which is not a secret operation of an army engaged in war but has nevertheless raised the adrenaline of motorists from all over the world: Hyundai’s past repeats itself with the Korean manufacturer capable of surprising still about fifty years after the revelation signed by one of the greatest Italian designers in the sector.
It was 1974 when a special version of the classic Hyundai Pony, one of the most successful cars ever built by the brand between the seventies and nineties, also widely exported by us, known as the Coupé Concept, was officially presented at the Turin Motor Show, arousing the amazement of the public. The car could boast the angular lines curated by Giorgetto Giugiaro, authority of the car design sector then as now.
Let’s take a leap forward to modern times because the “N-Day” which for those who do not know is nothing more than a day dedicated to Hyundai-N, the sports department of the brand comparable to realities such as Toyota Gazoo or Abarth for the Stellantis Group , he reserved a flashback of the beloved Korean concept. Only this time, the model is serious.
Current and hydrogen
Despite being an almost unprecedented combination in the car world, the combination of electric and hydrogen propulsion makes the new home concept Hyundai, the N Vision 74, can boast immediately conquered the public. In fact, this car is completely silent and non-polluting thanks to two electric motors for a total power of 500 kW and the eight-kilo hydrogen tanks that it carries on board.
The car drove everyone crazy but not only for its propulsion system: the design was very much liked. Indeed, at a time when imagination is scarce in the automotive sector, the Hyundai N Vision 74 it’s a real breath of fresh air with lines that – according to some enthusiasts – are reminiscent of very classics such as the Lancia 037 and the American De Lorean. To us it looks a bit like the BMW M1 to be honest.
Last but not least, the car’s performance has satisfied even the most aggressive drivers on the planet with a detachment from 0 to 100 from a standstill in just 4 seconds flat for a top speed declared “higher” than 250 kilometers per hour. The Korean concept car – that for some reason it is referred to as a “mobile laboratory” by executives of the brand – everyone liked it in short, but unfortunately, there are not yet the resources to produce it in series. Let’s hope we don’t have to wait another fifty years to see her in a car showroom.
