The ‘2024 LA (Los Angeles) Auto Show’, the largest motor show in the western United States, has begun.
Here, Hyundai Motor Group made its presence known by setting up the largest exhibition hall.
Hyundai Motor Company unveiled the large SUV electric vehicle IONIQ 9 at the Goldstein House in LA a day before the opening of the LA Auto Show, and presented the IONIQ 9 to visitors for the first time on the opening day of the auto show. The hydrogen electric vehicle concept model ‘Inicium’, scheduled to be released in the first half of next year, was also unveiled for the first time in North America.
In addition to the Ioniq 9 and Inicium, a total of 42 vehicles were displayed at the site.
Kia also unveiled its high-performance electric SUV (sports utility vehicle) ‘EV9 GT’ for the first time in the world at the LA Auto Show. In addition, models with improved marketability, ‘The New EV6’ and ‘The New Sportage’ were also exhibited. Both cars are making their North American debut.
Kia prepared a 2,239㎡ exhibition hall at this auto show and displayed a total of 26 vehicles.
Genesis also introduced 9 vehicles, including the GV70 partially modified model and the GV70 electric partially modified model.
The GV70 is a popular model, with 85,000 units sold in the three years since its launch in the North American market. Thanks to this, Genesis has recently established 60 sales bases in the United States. The brand’s first dedicated design center, Genesis Design California, is scheduled to open in the El Segundo area of LA, USA, in the first half of next year.
At this LA Auto Show, Jose Muñoz, President-elect of Hyundai Motor Company, also presented a goal of selling 2 million electric vehicles per year by 2030.

“In the United States, Hyundai Motor Company set a new record for retail sales in the third quarter of this year, up 5% compared to the same period last year. Thanks to a 37% growth in hybrid sales and a 26% growth in electric vehicle sales, it is expected to achieve the highest performance in U.S. retail sales for the fourth consecutive year. (2 minutes 56 seconds to 3 minutes 3 seconds) Hyundai Motor Company aims to sell 2 million electric vehicles annually worldwide with a lineup of 21 electric vehicle models by 2030.”
Electrification is a trend that cannot be resisted, but it is faced with many challenges, such as the announcement of policy changes by the second Trump administration.
President-designate Jose Muñoz expressed confidence in response to concerns about a reduction in U.S. Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) subsidies, saying, “We are prepared for all regulations.”
