A fire broke out at a traditional market in Incheon, and the fire authorities issued a second stage of response and extinguished the fire in about an hour and 50 minutes.
According to the Incheon Fire Department on the 5th, a fire broke out at Hyundai Market in Songrim-dong, Dong-gu, Incheon at around 11:38 pm the previous day. No casualties have been confirmed so far from the fire, but 44 stores were found to have been burned.
The fire department, which received the fire report, issued the second stage of response at 0:05 am on the same day, 27 minutes after the fire broke out. The second stage of the response is a warning order that mobilizes personnel and equipment from 5 to 6 adjacent fire stations.
An official from the fire department said, “We issued a second stage of response considering the possibility of transfer due to the fact that there are shopping malls inside the market.”
Then, after putting in 147 manpower including firefighters and 52 units of equipment such as pump cars, the initial evolution was carried out at 1:31 am on the 5th, about 1 hour and 50 minutes after the fire broke out.
The fire department plans to investigate the cause of the fire and the specific scale of property damage as soon as the fire is completely extinguished.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Han Deok-soo gave an urgent order to mobilize all available equipment and manpower to extinguish the fire.
Vice Minister of Public Administration and Security Han Chang-seop also said, “I hope that related organizations such as the Fire Administration, Incheon City, and Dong-gu Office will do their best to prevent safety accidents of firefighters in the process of fighting fires.” He also asked nearby residents to prevent secondary damage from occurring.
