The Korean car manufacturer Hyundai, together with the other brands included in the concern, KIA and Genesis, aims to be among the TOP3 largest electric car manufacturers in the world in 2030. The electric models of Hyundai and KIA have proven themselves quite well so far, but the manufacturer is not going to stop there and will invest 18 billion dollars in the coming years to develop an electric car.
Part of the investments is intended for all brands of the concern to be able to increase production volumes. This is also understandable, because one of the biggest problems is the availability of electric cars – you have to wait for them for a very long time and this deters some customers from buying them.
Automotive News reports that Hyundai wants to be among the biggest electric car manufacturers in the world. Two of the big US car manufacturers, Ford and General Motors, have already announced their goal to overtake Tesla and become the world’s largest electric car manufacturers. Others, such as the Volkswagen concern, are also not sleeping, which is also preparing new models, and the German automotive giant is developing more affordable cars, which will increase sales figures.
In 2030, the entire Hyundai concern wants to offer a total of 31 electric models. To increase volumes, KIA will open a new factory dedicated to electric cars near Seoul, the capital of South Korea, and other processes are underway so that Hyundai and its brands can produce more than 3 million units of electric cars in 2030.
