Hyundai has modernized the Ioniq 5 electric model, during which it received a more capacious battery and will be able to drive more.
The modernized Ioniq 5, which is available with cameras instead of side mirrors (for a fee), has also changed a bit optically, but the technical changes are much more significant.
The manufacturer reveals that all variants of the Ioniq 5 now come with a battery heating system as standard, which improves charging performance in cold temperatures. If a charging station is also inserted in the navigation destination, the battery is already heated to the optimum temperature during the journey.
A more powerful battery with 77.4 kWh is integrated in the Top version, which replaced the previous 72.6 kWh battery. It is known that the range of the rear-wheel drive Ioniq 5 increases to just over 500 kilometers, while the all-wheel drive version remains about the same 480 kilometers.
Thanks to the 800-volt fast charging system, the battery can still be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes.
The manufacturer also promises an increase in power: for its versions with 77.4 kWh battery and rear-wheel drive, it will now reach 168 kW (229 hp), and for the all-wheel drive version – 239 kW (325 hp).
Next year the Koreans will expand the Ioniq 5 family with a particularly sporty N all-wheel drive modification, which will develop 430 kW (585 hp) and will be able to reach a top speed of 250 km / h.
