South Korean automaker Hyundai’s first high-performance electric car has become available for order. In the German market, it will cost at least 74,900 euros.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is equipped with two electric motors with a total power of 609 hp (740 Nm), temporarily reaching 650 hp and 770 Nm during the Boost function. The electric car accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, with the N Grin Boost function in 3.4 seconds. The maximum speed is 260 km/h.
For race track use, the N model can offer Lauch Control quick start with three different grip levels and a racing function for intelligent energy management in motorsport. The vehicle also simulates gear shifting and offers an artificial engine sound in three variants.
The Ioniq 5 N’s built-in 84 kWh traction battery, fully charged, will provide a range of up to 448 kilometers (WLTP cycle). The manufacturer has indicated that the maximum charging capacity is 240 kW.
Technical differences include sports suspension with adaptive dampers, electronic rear differential lock, high-performance braking system, as well as sports bucket seats with reinforced side bolsters and a wing-like rear spoiler.
The N model is also 2cm lower and 5cm wider than the standard Ioniq 5 electric car.
