Hyundai released photos of camouflaged prototype sports version of the Elantra sedan new generation developed by the N-division of the South Korean brand. This modification will be the most powerful and fastest version of the model in its 30-year history.
According to preliminary data, Hyundai Elantra N will be equipped with a two-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine from sports hatchback i30 N and Veloster N, on which it develops 275 hp. and 392 Nm of torque. The motor will work in conjunction with a six-speed manual transmission, or with eight-band robotic transmission with two clutches.
The N-modification will differ from the standard sedan with a suspension with sporty settings and reduced ground clearance, more efficient brakes, as well as an aerodynamic body kit. The sedan will premiere next year.
The most powerful version of the new generation Elantra to date is sedan by N Line… This car is equipped with a 1.6-liter “turbo four”, developing 204 hp. and 264 Nm of torque. The engine works in conjunction with a robotic gearbox or six-speed “mechanics”.
In Russia, they continue to sell Hyundai Elantra cars of the previous generation, which are produced in Kaliningrad. Sedans are available with naturally aspirated engines of 1.6 and 2.0 liters, developing 128 and 150 hp. respectively. Prices start at 1,235,000 rubles.
