Jakarta –
Four-wheeled manufacturer from South Korea, Hyundai caught testing a tiny electric car on a highway in Europe. This vehicle will most likely become the manufacturer’s mainstay in the low-cost electric vehicle segment.
Obtained from Carscoops and Transport, Saturday (23/9), the small electric car that is being tested uses Hyundai Casper’s platform. In fact, the same source said that the vehicle will indeed carry the name Casper EV.
Even though it is covered with camouflage stickers to obscure its identity, there are a number of details on the vehicle that can be recognized. For example, small dimensions with a predominance of boxy accents. Slant headlights whose eyebrows connect to the hood line. Then there is lighting below which is parallel to the minimalist grille.

These details really resemble the latest version of the Hyundai Casper which was launched in Asia recently. However, there is a slight difference in the rim which has a simpler design.
Reportedly, the vehicle will be produced at Gwangju Global Motors (GGM) as an agreement between the local government and Hyundai. This cheap car will most likely become a global product and start being marketed next year.
Until now, there have been no leaks regarding the engine, features and selling price of the vehicle. However, rumors are circulating that the car which is said to be the Hyundai Casper EV will use the same battery as the Kia Ray. So, the car can go up to 205 km with just one charge.

Meanwhile, the features will most likely be the same as the Hyundai Casper. However, it is said that the manufacturer will make it more complete with the addition of several security technologies.
In South Korea, the Hyundai Casper is priced starting at IDR 163 million. Even though it hasn’t been announced yet, the electric version will probably play in the entry level or first-time buyer class.
